An assessment provides an objective picture of abilities and personal characteristics (the competencies) and the ambitions of the applicant or employee. This gives both the client and the candidate, certainty about the fit between the person and the job, but also about the person and the organization.

An assessment center consists of a series of practical exercises, specifically chosen, to be certain whether certain skills and competencies are present to someone. Based on predetermined competencies, the assessment center provides a clear insight into the strengths and development needs of the candidate and evaluates the potential for a certain function.
